This is a wonderful location for a beachfront stay conveniently located in the heart of IOP! We had a wonderful experience and Brandy in the front office was AMAZING. She was friendly, helpful and very kind. Our room had been renovated with comfortable CLEAN beds, decent size walk in shower, ample outlets/charging areas and a large TV. The grounds were clean for the most part (guests could clean up after themselves) and was being updated with fresh paint. Outdoor shower and foot wash is available when exiting the beach, but there is never a way to keep the sand out of the room in a million years! Some things we noticed that may or may not be able to be improved were; it was hard to open the heavy door and navigate entering as the bed is right at the entrance as the rooms are on the small side. The doors have to be pulled tightly upon exiting to ensure they latch. There was a bit if a musty smell upon entering, but quickly dissipated once the door was left cracked for a bit. The air conditioner cooled the room, but things were left damp after showering (no exhaust fan). There was only one mirror located in the bathroom which made it difficult for multiple people to get ready for the day. The bathroom floor tile was buckled around the toilet area because of water buildup from exiting the shower. All in all, I would stay here again because of the friendly service, location and cleanliness of room.
Overall; good value for the location and price. This is a no-frills place. Had the weather been better, we wouldn’t have spent any time in our room. We arrived before our room was ready; our bags were able to be dropped in office for safe keeping. The room was clean enough. The bed was comfy and plenty of towels provided. Our bathroom did seem like it was an unfinished renovation. There were drywall patches and not much counter space for a toiletry bag. There was plenty of space in the corner fridge/microwave/coffee area. The grab-n-go continental breakfast was a nice perk. We stayed on the side closest to Windjammer. Other reviewers complained on noise. There was a concert happening one of the nights we were there. It was loud when concert was happening but noise ordinance had it quiet by 9:30/10pm. TLDR; good place to rest your head as long as you don’t plan on spending too much time in your room.
We stayed here for two nights during a trip to see my wife’s dr. When we checked in the sheets on the beds were full of sand and stains. The ceiling inside of the bathroom was coming apart from water damage . It looks like some one has tried to put lipstick on a pig. First walk to the beach my daughter slices her toe open on a rusted nail that was sticking out of the walk way. Also found random screws around the water hole they call a pool. When I went to the office to try and talk to a manager they were not there a maintenance guy very nonchalantly said I’ll take care of it and walks out with a hammer. I asked 3 times including when we checked out for the manager to call me. I still have not received a call. The lady at the front desk was nice but not impressed by anything else. I will still be waiting for my phone call. Don’t waste your money on these rooms or service !

Know before you go
- Request a room away from potential noise disturbances like concerts at Windjammer if you are sensitive to sound
- Check room amenities upon arrival to ensure everything is functioning properly
- Consider bringing earplugs or white noise machines if light sleeper due to hallway lights or external noises
- Visit during off-peak seasons for better rates and availability
Reviews
Seaside Inn offers a mixed experience with some guests praising the friendly staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds while others criticize the outdated facilities and maintenance issues. Positive aspects include renovated rooms with clean beds, ample charging areas, grab-n-go breakfast, and convenient beach access. However, negative feedback mentions humidity problems in rooms, musty smells, noise from nearby events like concerts at Windjammer affecting sleep quality, as well as cleanliness issues such as sandy beds and malfunctioning air conditioning.

Reasonable prices for off season stays on the beach. Basic amenities in the rooms. Our room smelled heavily of chemical cleaners and air fresheners, which wasn't very inviting upon entering but the bed was soft and we had a comfortable stay overall.
Don’t waste your time and money staying here. This is a partially renovated hotel (only the very few oceanfront rooms) that should be closed until the renovations are complete. Believe the bad reviews.I did read some mixed reviews before booking this hotel. The most recent ones seemed to be mostly positive, so I hoped the renovations (the subject of most of the bad reviews) had been completed since the older reviews were written. They hadn’t. I had the same bad experience in the same run down room that people have been having for years. This must be the longest remodeling project in history. The air conditioner cooled the room, but did not remove the moisture. Our room was ridiculously humid. Nothing would dry. Our towels and bathing suits mildewed. Our pillows were damp. I requested dry pillows, and the replacements soon became damp. Every metal item in the room (refrigerator, lamps, door frames, bed frames) was rusty. The room was so small that the door barely cleared the end of the bed when it was opened. The bathroom caulking was in terrible shape. The hall light was on all night (for security), but the blinds on the window that faced the hall didn’t close enough to block the light! On the plus side, the sheets and towels were clean and the beds were pretty comfortable.I booked this hotel because my daughters and I wanted to stay right on the beach, which we had not done before. This was the only beachfront hotel that had an available room for the dates we wanted. Now I know why! We still had a nice vacation, but the hotel was definitely a bummer.
